Much of Immigration law post Brexit remains uncertain however the government has published its post-Brexit Immigration policy which comes into effect in January 2021 unless there are further extensions.
The post Brexit immigration policy has been unveiled as a point-based system. Thus, an applicant’s eligibility will be determined based on them getting the qualifying number of points. Perhaps the most significant impact to EEA nationals is that the freedom of movement currently enjoyed by citizens within the European Union will end.
Migrants wishing to come to the UK for work will need to be sponsored by an employer in a similar fashion to the tier 2 category visas
For EU citizens, the proposed new policy is significantly more restrictive and more expensive than freedom of movement.
If you are an EEA National and you will be affected by the post Brexit policy, call our expert immigration lawyers today.
